About the Operator Certification Committee

The committee's mission it to facilitate communication between agencies responsible for certification of water utility personnel, to work toward the acceptance of core certification program requirements, and to promote essential training to meet those requirements.

Committee Goals

To Promote:

  • a uniformity of standards and practices in certification
  • reciprocity among certification programs
  • that all operators of public water systems are trained and certified
  • professional growth and development of operators of public water systems
  • that all operators of public water systems conduct themselves in a professional manner
  • the recognition of operators as professionals
  • a common voice and continued support for certification in New England and nationally
