The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in coordination with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, will conduct a two-hour webinar for drinking water (DW) and wastewater (WW) operators.

The webinar will provide an overview of cybersecurity threats, incidents, lessons learned, and recommendations for DW and WW utilities to take to reduce their cybersecurity vulnerabilities. 

 

Operators will:

•   Understand cybersecurity threats and recommendations to reduce vulnerabilities to the water sector.

•   Hear about recent cybersecurity incidents, lessons learned, and a fundamental guide to help water utilities.

•   Learn about best management practices, EPA tools, and regulatory requirements.

•   Finally, a panel of state agency and water industry representatives will provide state and local perspectives on actions taken to address cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

 

The webinar will feature the following experts:

•   Martin Suuberg, Commissioner, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection

•   Ron Ford, Cybersecurity Advisor, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency

•   Brandon Carter, Cybersecurity Analyst, EPA Water Security Division

•   Jennifer Lyn Walker, Lead Cyber Threat Analyst, WaterISAC

•   Yvette Depeiza, Director, Mass DEP Drinking Water Program

•   Peter Hunt, Chief Information Officer, Boston Water and Sewer Commission

•   Premjith Lakshman Singh, Chief Information Digital Officer, South Central CT Regional Water Authority

EPA is working with states to offer continuing education units (CEUs) for DW and WW operators.
