Course Description
This course will satisfy the refresher requirement for those who have previously completed the 40 hour HazWOPER training. It is also relevant for anyone who wishes an overview of basic concepts of hazardous material training. It will begin by reviewing the Hazardous Materials Regulations as outlined in OSHA Standard 1910.1209, including the medical requirements. A review of hazardous materials chemistry will follow. Next, topics of toxicology and industrial hygiene will be covered. The class will also review hazardous materials recognition as well as hazard communication. Other topics covered will include: Site control measures, personal protective equipment, spill control, decontamination, confined space entry, and emergency response actions.

Consultants, safety managers, water treatment plant operators and other professionals who deal with their organization's safety issues will find this seminar of interest.
