Advanced Testing and Diagnostic Procedures for Backflow Prevention Devices
Course Category:
Backflow
Course Description
This new, advanced level course was specifically designed for practicing testing and repair professionals who wish to expand their knowledge of advanced backflow testing procedures and improve their diagnostic skills. The course will begin with a review of test procedure fundamentals, designed to refresh skills and provide a "platform" for advanced instruction. Next, through a blend of classroom and "hands-on" laboratory instruction, students will learn specialized field test procedures, diagnostic techniques in small groups with instructor supervision. Actual field operational problems will be presented for testing/diagnostic/repair solution. The acquisition of these advanced skills can make practicing professionals more time efficient and cost effective when testing and repairing backflow prevention assemblies in the field. "Hands-on" testing will be performed on 1/2" through 4" double check valve, reduced pressure principle and pressure vacuum breaker backflow preventers. In addition to brushing up on current testing skills and learning new testing procedures, students will have an opportunity to visit various lab stations which will demonstrate various troubleshooting situations and allow them to practice their diagnostic techniques.
