Attend a free, hands-on interactive training to learn how to adapt to current and future extreme weather impacts on critical drinking water, wastewater and stormwater assets. The New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency are hosting this training on CREAT, a risk assessment application that helps utilities adapt to extreme weather events.

Training Objectives

• Better understand and plan for the impacts of current and future weather conditions

in order to protect utility infrastructure and ensure the continued provision of clean

and safe water to customers;

• Begin the process of conducting a risk assessment using CREAT; and

• Identify and share information on adaptation strategies to build utility long-term

resilience.

Who Should Attend?

• Drinking water, wastewater and stormwater utility staff and management involved

with planning, operations, and sustainability

• Technical assistance providers

• Local, state, federal and tribal government officials

• Watershed planners

• Water sector associations

6.0 continuing education units (CEUs) for wastewater operators are available for participation. CEUs for drinking water operators may be available (application pending).
