  IACET Information

NEWWA has been accredited through the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) as an authorized Continuing Education Unit (CEU) provider for more than 6 years.

IACET has a rich history of promoting educational quality. Created in 1968, IACET's Criteria and Guidelines for Quality Continuing Education and Training Programs are the standards by which hundreds of organizations measure their educational offerings.

Based on the original criteria and guidelines, IACET's newly approved ANSI/IACET standards address processes for designing, developing, and delivering continuing education and training, not the content of individual programs, which means that its standards apply across all disciplines.  Through an emphasis on the educational process, the standards ensure clear program development and valuable learning outcomes.

IACET authorized providers complete a comprehensive application and undergo a strict evaluation of their educational processes according to the ANSI/IACET Standards. Only IACET authorized providers can offer the IACET CEU, the hallmark of quality in continuing education and training.

NEWWA would like to congratulate and recognize Ted Kenney, deputy executive director and education manager, for being appointed an IACET commissioner in 2007. IACET commissioners evaluate organizations seeking approval as authorized CEU providers.
